This Directory exists to help people find help — including elderly residents, people with disabilities, and non-native English speakers. We want it to be usable by as many people as possible.
What we've done
- Large, high-contrast tap targets for phone numbers and addresses so they're easy to tap accurately
- Text that scales properly on mobile devices without requiring zoom
- Semantic page structure (headings, landmarks) so screen readers can navigate the page logically
- Color choices intended to meet reasonable contrast standards against the background
- No content that relies on color alone to convey meaning
Known limitations
This site is actively maintained, and we know it isn't perfect. Some known gaps:
- Not all site text has been independently reviewed by a native Spanish speaker or professional translator — if something reads awkwardly, please let us know
- The interactive map view relies on visual pin placement, which may be difficult to use with a screen reader; the list view is the more accessible way to browse the same information
